Where do I find my stamped Schedule 1?
If you e-filed, the stamped Schedule 1 is delivered to the email on file (and downloadable from your filing-service dashboard) typically within minutes of IRS acceptance. If you mailed Form 2290, the IRS returns the stamped Schedule 1 by mail within 4-6 weeks.
The stamped Schedule 1 is the IRS-watermarked PDF that proves HVUT was paid (or claimed as suspended). State DMVs require it before issuing or renewing IRP plates, and lessees / dispatchers occasionally request it as a compliance document.
For e-filed returns through any IRS-approved provider, the stamped Schedule 1 is the document the IRS sends back at acceptance. It carries an IRS watermark with the e-file submission ID and the date of acceptance. Save the PDF — DMVs sometimes need a digital copy and sometimes a paper print.
If the stamped Schedule 1 doesn't arrive within 24 hours of an e-filed return, the most common cause is an EIN/business-name mismatch with the IRS records. The provider dashboard will surface the rejection reason; correcting the mismatch and re-submitting typically clears it within a few hours.
For a lost stamped Schedule 1 from a prior year, log back into the original e-file provider and re-download. The IRS itself does not maintain a self-service portal for taxpayers to retrieve old Schedule 1s.
